Why autumn is a great time to have a family photography session in Pembrokeshire!

Autumn colours are breathtaking!

OK… I’m a beach girl, but I love nothing more than a woodland walk in Autumn. As the leaves start to turn, and the ground becomes full of foliage from the trees, browns, oranges and reds create picture perfect backdrops for STUNNING photos!
I know we have just entered a national lockdown AGAIN here in Wales, but if you have a local woodland near you, get out with the kids and explore! Throw leaves in the air, search for conkers, and splash in puddles. It’s so much fun.

Golden hour is earlier.

With the early dark evenings creeping in, that special time known as golden hour (which is by far the best time for photography) is at a more reasonable time of day. I love summer, but a 10 o’clock golden hour can be a little impractical - especially for little ones. It saves messing up those bedtime routines that we work so hard to achieve. Those few hours to yourself in the evening’s are bliss right?
So if you want those beautiful backlit golden images without the disruption, Autumn is where it’s at!

The outfits!

Autumn lends itself to layers, textures and colours. Grab those winter boots and knitted jumpers, add a scarf for an additional layer if you like, and dig out your bobble hats… especially if it’s cold.
Oh and gilets…kids look amazing in gilets! An if all else fails you can don your wellies and splash about in puddles.

It’s Fun for the kids

If you are worried about your kids behaving during a photoshoot, DON’T. They will be having so much fun playing, they’ll forget why we are there.

Christmas is coming!

So, it’s October and we haven’t quite had Halloween yet, you’re probably thinking “why is she bringing up Christmas?” Well it comes around pretty quickly (it catches me out every year).
Imagine handing your special family member another pair of socks … Now imagine their face when they open a beautiful image of the precious little ones in their life. Something they will no doubt treasure forever. Was the smile bigger? Of course it was…nobody wants socks!

With all the social distancing and restrictions happening at the moment, there’s even more reason to give the gift of portraiture to family members who might not be seeing you as often as they’d like.

It’s win win for you… presents sorted, and you’ve had your annual family photos all in one.

If that all sounds perfect to you, get in touch to book a session.
