Top 5 beaches to have a family photography session in Pembrokeshire

Are you looking to book a family photoshoot in Pembrokshire? On holiday or local…these are my 5 favourite beaches to create memories for you and your family.

Broad Haven South
  1. Broad Haven south!

A stunning soft sand beach, located in South Pembrokeshire. On the right day here the sea can be crystal clear! It really is breathtaking. A great spot when we need to hide from the wind.
Parking: National Trust Car Park

2. Freshwater West

With a long expanse of sand and dunes that stretch the length of the beach, this beach is perfect for a photo session! The sun sets over the sea for most of the year which makes for beautiful light.
I LOVE this beach!
Note: Parking is free, but we’ll have to watch out for those strong South Westerly trade winds.

Parking: Free - Can get busy on bank holidays and summer weekends.

Tenby Sunrise

3. Tenby

Tenby has the heart of many…and you can see why! With 3 beaches to choose from, the colourful houses and quaint streets, this really does make a perfect setting for your photos!

Tenby North beach (pictured) Is better for a sunrise session or earlier in the day session.

Tenby south is the one you want for sand dunes at sunset. The sunsets behind the dunes for most of the year.

Parking: can be tricky in the summer here.

Newgale Sunset

4. Newgale

With a beach that stretches almost 2 miles…there’s more than enough room to get the shot!
Another beach where the sun usually sets over the sea. Aren’t we luck to have all these west facing beaches!!

A walk over the pebbles means appropriate footwear must be worn :) Or you can just bare foot it like I normally do.

Parking: Free parking at the pub or a couple of punds in the main car parks.

Marloes Sunset

5. Marloes

Rugged and full of character

A bit of a trek to get down too, but worth every step.
For this reason it’s usually quieter than the other beaches mentioned above.
It’s breathtaking though.
Marloes can only be photographed at the right state of tide, it needs to be low to mid to be able to access enough beach to get good photos.

Parking: National trust car park.

Of course there are so many more beautiful spots to have your family photos, these only scratch the surface of Pembrokshire’s beauty.
